Haridwar, July 14 -- A 23-year-old woman was raped allegedly by a e-rickshaw driver in Roorkee, Haridwar, police officers aware of the matter said on Sunday. According to Superintendent of Rural police Shekhar Chandra Suyal, the complainant was a resident of Delhi. The incident took place on Friday evening, they added. He said the woman arrived in Haridwar on July 10, without telling her parents. He said the complainant told police that around 7.30pm on Friday, she was waiting for a Delhi-bound bus when an e-rickshaw driver stopped and told her that she needed to board the bus a few hundred metres away.
