Dy CM Pathak says UP now 'Mafia-free'
GORAKHPUR, Nov. 25 -- Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Brijesh Pathak on Monday said the state has become "entirely mafia-free" under the Yogi Adityanath government, crediting strong law enforcement and swift action against criminal networks.
Addressing a gathering at Sardar Patel High School in Khalilabad after leading a Unity March, Pathak targeted the previous Samajwadi Party government, alleging it had "nurtured mafia groups across districts." In contrast, he said, the BJP government has focused on improving infrastructure and expanding healthcare and education.
He said the administration remains committed to strict law enforcement and rapid action against anyone attempting to disturb peace. "Rule of law prevails in Uttar Pradesh today," he said, adding that no criminal elements are being spared.
Pathak said the Yogi government has replaced the earlier "mafia culture" with development, particularly in health sector. "Strict action has been taken immediately against anyone who attempts to disrupt law and order. Today, Uttar Pradesh is completely mafia-free," he said.
During his visit, the deputy CM noted that no major crossing or building in Sant Kabir Nagar district is named after Sardar Patel. He directed officials to rename the District Collectorate in Patel's honour and install his statue at the main crossing.
