LUCKNOW, July 25 -- Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak has ordered suspension of a government doctor posted in Kanpur on charges of corruption. Two other doctors in Mathura and Etah were also suspended. "Working on the post of additional chief medical officer, the accused doctor was found indulged in corruption in connivance with medical suppliers. Though he was promoted to level four but still he was not transferred," said Pathak in a press statement. A case was registered by the CBI and investigation was done for supply of sub-standard material to the health department worth Rs 1.60 crore. In the investigation, the said doctor was found guilty. "The principal secretary medical health has been directed to initiate action against the doctor and also a pharmacist and an account officer in the same case," said Pathak. In another case, two doctors were found guilty of demanding money to get candidates of police recruitment clear in a medical test. One doctor in Mathura who was part of the medical panel in the recruitment exam and another from Etah have been suspended. Another doctor in Badaun was served a charge sheet for irregularities in selection of ASHA workers in the district....
