GORAKHPUR, Dec. 4 -- An out-of-control dumper crashed into multiple vehicles, resulting in three deaths and injuries to eight other people, on the Kasya Highway in Kushinagar on Monday. The incident occurred around 1.30 pm at the Pakwainar crossing. The driver of the dumper, Raj Singh, 40, was also among the injured. Those killed were identified as Ramvilas alias Sadhu, 60, a resident of Pipri Chaube Tola in Kasya, who was riding the bicycle; and two motorcycle riders, Keshav Rajbhar, 24 and Chandan Rajbhar, 22, both residents of Sahodar Patti under Mahuawa police station in Deoria district, police said. According to police, the high-speed dumper lost control near Pakwa Enar Chauraha. In an attempt to avoid hitting an elderly pedestrian crossing the four-lane road, the driver first struck a cyclist. The vehicle then crossed the divider, entered the oncoming lane, and collided head-on with an e-rickshaw, a motorcycle, a truck, and a tractor-trolley before overturning. SHO Kasya, Abhinav Mishra, said that two of the deceased have been identified as Keshav Rajbhar, 31 and Ramvilas, 58. One of the deceased is yet to be identified. All the injured were taken to the local CHC, where doctors declared three people dead. Eight critically injured victims were referred to the district hospital for further treatment.
