LUCKNOW, July 22 -- An inebriated man climbed atop an electric transformer, in Lucknow's Naka area on Monday morning, in front of shocked locals and passers-by, causing a commotion in the area for some time. The incident occurred near Sudarshan Cinema, close to the Naka police outpost. Eyewitnesses said that the man was shouting and while climbing on to the transformer, drawing a large crowd. Fortunately for the man, the power supply was cut at the time. Police and fire brigade personnel were alerted by locals. Officers from Naka police station quickly reached the scene and persuaded the man to come down. He was then taken to the police station for questioning. Inspector, Naka, Virendra Tripathi, confirmed that the individual was identified as Santosh, a resident of Chhattisgarh. According to police, Santosh was en route to Himachal Pradesh and was supposed to board a train from Ambala. However, he mistakenly boarded a train to Lucknow. After disembarking at Charbagh railway station, Santosh reportedly began wandering around the city. At some point, he allegedly consumed intoxicants, which led to a deterioration in his mental state. It was in this state of disorientation that he climbed onto the transformer. "Santosh's brother has been contacted and is on his way to take him home," the SHO added....
