LUCKNOW, May 8 -- The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) arrested an alleged member of an interstate drug smuggling gang in Lucknow on Tuesday (May 6) and recovered high-value narcotics, including cocaine and mephedrone (MD), authorities said on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off, the STF team arrested Prem Babu alias Raj Kumar, a resident of Premnagar in Alambagh, near Radio Colony (Sector-8), Prerna Park, in Ghazipur area. The team recovered 25 grams of cocaine (valued at Rs 25 lakh) and 50 grams of MD (valued at Rs 5 lakh), along with ATM cards, an Aadhaar card, a driving licence, a mobile phone, and Rs 1,020 in cash. According to STF officials, Prem Babu used to work at a city hotel where he came in contact with a drug network. He began sourcing drugs from a Nigerian national in Palampur, New Delhi, and supplying them in Lucknow.
