PRAYAGRAJ, May 10 -- In view of ongoing attempts from Pakistan to target vital military installations, the district administration has imposed a complete ban on flying drones within district limits. Officials warned that penal action will be taken against anyone found violating the drone ban. Officials also issued instructions against spreading misinformation on social media and urged the public to rely on government-issued information. A dedicated team will monitor social media accounts to enforce this, officials said. Additional precautionary measures include strict enforcement of the ban on photography and videography of all military areas and installations. Broadcasting any images of such sensitive locations on social media is also prohibited, officials said. Confirming these steps, district magistrate of Prayagraj, Ravindra Kumar Mandar, stated: "Flying drones has been banned across the district. We appeal to citizens to cooperate. Violators will face legal action. Photography and videography of military areas are also strictly banned, and sharing such images on social media is prohibited." He added that all government departments have been instructed to ensure strict adherence to these measures. Citizens have also been urged to stay alert and report any suspicious activity or individuals to the nearest police station promptly. Security has been tightened at Prayagraj Airport as well. The facility for issuing visitor passes was suspended on Friday with immediate effect. Now, only ticket holders will be allowed entry into the terminal. This decision will remain in force until further notice. The move follows a security review meeting chaired by airport director Mukesh Upadhyay. He announced that a new guideline has been issued regarding Secondary Point Checking. Earlier, passengers and baggage were checked at two levels, but a third layer of security has now been introduced. Currently, the Special Security Force of UP Police, along with civil police, is handling the airport security. Passengers are advised to arrive at least three hours before their scheduled flight to avoid delays due to the enhanced security checks....
