New Delhi, Aug. 13 -- North Delhi Strikers defeated West Delhi Lions by 11 runs in the nineteenth match of the Delhi Premier League Season 2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Strikers posted 165/9. While opener Sarthak Ranjan top-scored with 42, he had little support from the rest of the line-up. Arjun Rapria contributed with 40 to help push the team to a competitive total. They topped it up with a controlled bowling performance with Deepanshu Gulia (3/44) leading the charge. Lions struggled with the chase but Hrithik Shokeen kept the hopes alive with his 51 off 24. He scored 28 runs off Gulia's last over but Harshit Rana and Rapria pulled things back in the death overs to halt Lions at 154/8. Earlier in the day, Rahul Chaudhary's final-over hattrick went in vain as South Delhi Superstarz chased down the mammoth 197-run target. After restricting the Tigers to 196/9 in the first innings, the Superstarz began their chase with determination but soon found themselves in early trouble as opener Kunwar Bidhuri fell cheaply. However, Anmol Sharma was up to the task as he scored 79 runs off 52 deliveries to aid the recovery. Wicket-keeper batter Tejasvi Dahiya complemented Sharma brilliantly with a scintillating 72 runs from just 38 balls. With 12 runs required in the final over, the chase reached a dramatic climax as Chaudhary (3/48) claimed a hat-trick by dismissing Anmol Sharma, Sumit Mathur and Gulzar Sandhu....
