Jhansi, June 12 -- Around thirty-five bats were found dead under a tree in Lalitpur district due to excessive heat on Tuesday, said officials of the forest department. This comes weeks after hundreds of parrots were found dead in Jhansi district.The incident occurred in Sirvas village where residents noticed dozens of bats lying dead under a banyan tree and reported the matter to the authorities. A team of the forest department reached the area and collected all the dead bats which were sent for postmortem. DFO Shireen explained that bats become uneasy when temperatures exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
