LUCKNOW, Jan. 2 -- The department of personnel and training (DoPT) has added nine more posts for promotion from PCS to IAS in Uttar Pradesh. With the nine new posts and 18 vacant posts, the DPC for promotion of PCS officers to IAS rank will be held for 27 posts. After the increase of nine IAS posts by DoPT, the UP IAS cadre has increased to 683 officers. The DoPT informed the UP government about the increase in the IAS posts on December 31. The increase in the number of posts has paved the way for the promotion of the PCS officers of the 2010 and 2011 batch to the IAS rank. The DoPT is likely to submit a proposal to the Union Public Service Commission for promotion to the vacant posts soon....
