Doctors remove 15 cm iron rod from patient's liver
LUCKNOW, Oct. 20 -- Doctors at King George's Medical University on Sunday removed a 15 cm iron rod lodged in the liver of 31-year-old Sandeep Kumar. The patient is now recovering well. Kumar, a resident of Bahraich, had fallen onto a pointed iron rod while cleaning, which pierced his back, chest, and liver.
He was referred to KGMU by a private hospital in Mau. The trauma surgery team, led by Drs Sandeep Tiwari and Sameer Mishra, used laparoscopy to extract the rod. The team carried out the procedure under the guidance of the surgery department headed by profs Sandeep Tiwari and Sameer Mishra.
