Udaipur, June 20 -- A doctor was allegedly electrocuted on Thursday while using a water cooler at the hostel of the Ravindranath Tagore (RNT) Medical College in Udaipur, people privy to the matter said, adding that the incident triggered a strike by resident doctors of the college who demanded resignation of administrative officials for allegedly ignoring prior complaints. Dr Ravi Sharma (35), had recently arrived in Udaipur and was staying on the fourth floor of the Dilshad hostel with his cousin, Dr Prashant, who said that Ravi was about to join Maharana Bhupal Singh Hospital. "Dr Ravi was my elder uncle's son. He was posted at the CHC in Kherwara and had also been an active part of 'Operation Sindoor' during which he served in Jaisalmer as part of a medical team from Udaipur. He had come to Udaipur just two days ago as he was about to join a new posting at MB Hospital." Resident doctors are now demanding that the postmortem be conducted by a medical board, and a representative from the resident doctors should be included in the process. htc...
