DM reviews Neelkanth shrine yatra readiness
Haridwar, July 20 -- Millions of kanwariyas are paying obeisance at the revered Neelkanth shrine during the ongoing Shravan Kanwar pilgrimage, according to the district mela officials.
Neelkanth shrine situated in Manikoot mountain in Yamkeshwar block of Pauri Garhwal district is the most sought after Lord Shiva shrine among kanwariyas. Pauri Garhwal district magistrate Swati S Bhadauria on Friday evening inspected the arrangements and facilities put in place for the Kanwar mela pilgrimage in and around Neelkanth shrine Mela zone.
The DM also inspected Peepalkoti-Diyuli parking lot, toilets, accommodation for medical staff deployed on yatra route, free food eateries serving food-snacks to kanwariyas and power supply.
"All arrangements are in place at Neelkanth shrine and adjacent shrine route. Security, hygeine, cleanliness, quality check of food and water are being ensured. Availability of medicines and medical staff is satisfactory at medical camps and medical relief points set on yatra route," said Bhadauria.
