DJ accidentally shot dead by friend: Cops
Dehradun, May 20 -- A 30-year-old disc jockey (DJ) was accidentally shot dead by his friend while they were partying on the rooftop of the latter's house on Sunday evening, a police official said.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ajai Singh said, "On May 18 evening, Aman, a resident of Mehuwala Mafi, was having a party on the rooftop of his house with four of his friends. During the party, Aman placed a .32 bore pistol on the table and removed its magazine. He then began playfully handling the pistol in front of his friends. Unaware that a round was still in the chamber, Aman accidentally pulled the trigger while toying with the pistol. The bullet fired from the pistol struck his friend Sagar in the chest. Sagar was rushed to Indresh Hospital by his friends, where doctors declared him dead."
According to the police, no first information report (FIR) has been registered yet, and they will take action based on a formal complaint received from the deceased's family. "No FIR has been registered yet. We are yet to receive any complaint from the deceased's family. A postmortem will also be carried out accordingly," said Patel Nagar station house officer (SHO) Chandrabhan Singh.
"Aman, Sagar and three of their friends had gathered for an evening party. Aman was into online marketing, while Sagar was a DJ. Their three friends are engaged in low-profile private jobs. As they sat at the table, and were having chit chat and hadn't even opened the liquor bottle, Aman was toying with the pistol. He was unaware that a round was still there in the chamber. He accidentally pulled the trigger, and the bullet struck the middle of the chest of Sagar," he said.
Singh added that Aman was absconding and efforts were on to search for him....
