diversion on Lko-Knp route from Jan 11 to 14
LUCKNOW, Jan. 8 -- Commuters travelling on the Lucknow-Kanpur route will face traffic diversions near Banthara from January 11 to 14, as authorities have started the critical work to remove a high-tension power line obstructing the final stretch of the expressway from Wednesday.
Officials said the diversion is necessary for shifting a 400 kV high-tension transmission line, which has been delaying the completion of the elevated section of the expressway within Lucknow limits. The diversion is taken after consultation with the traffic police and district administration. The transmission line currently hangs at around 10 metres above ground, the same level as the elevated road.
The Power Grid Corporation Ltd (PGCL) started dismantling the line on Wednesday after the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) approved a 25-day power shutdown, with electricity load shifted to alternative lines.
