Dists asked to fast-track skill training targets
LUCKNOW, Dec. 2 -- A district-wise review meeting led by Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) director Pulkit Khare stressed quality improvement, progress tracking, and timely target achievement across all skill training programmes.
Khare directed all divisions to conduct divisional-level competitions by December 10 and submit the top five candidates from each skill sector. Confidential question papers (Set A and Set B) will be sent directly by the Mission, and shortlisted district-level candidates must be ensured participation at the divisional stage.
He emphasised the smooth running of all training batches to connect maximum youth with local employment and self-employment opportunities. Under Project Praveen, the government aims to expand skill training in both government and private schools. Any training provider found involved in irregularities will face blacklisting.
He said the Zero Poverty Campaign is being reviewed at the CMO level, with UPSDM working to train identified families and SHG women. District officers must also submit updated progress reports on time....
