Digital payment begins at SRN Hosp, long queues to end
PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 22 -- The Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital has started digital payment facilities to help patients and their families avoid long queues. People can now pay hospital fees by scanning a QR code or using a swipe machine, bringing much-needed relief to thousands who visit the hospital every day.
Professor VK Pandey, principal of Motilal Nehru Medical College (MLNMC), said the new service was launched for the ease and comfort of patients. He added that this step would make the hospital system faster and more transparent. He also said it supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Digital India campaign.
Earlier, over 3,000 people had to stand in long queues daily to pay for OPD registration, medical tests and other services. Many had to wait for hours, which often caused stress and increased the risk of infections due to overcrowding. The new digital method will reduce the rush at the counters and help patients get quicker treatment.
Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital is the largest government-run hospital in the division and serves as the teaching hospital of MLN Medical College. In recent times, the hospital has seen many upgrades, including a new 160-bed super specialty block and a 250-bed advanced children's hospital on the same campus....
