DIG suspended two days after his arrest
India, Oct. 19 -- Two days after his arrest by the CBI in a bribery case, the Punjab government on Saturday suspended Ropar Range deputy inspector general (DIG) of police, Harcharan Singh Bhullar, from service. The suspension order, invoking provisions of the All India Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, was issued by the state home department. Bhullar was arrested by CBI on Thursday from his office in Mohali for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs.8 lakh from a Mandi Gobindgarh-based scrap dealer.
