Differently abled woman raped, case lodged
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 13 -- A man, identified as Veer Pratap Singh alias Viru Singh, in an inebriated state, threatened a 27-year-old differently abled woman living alone in her home in Jolhapur village under the Kandhai police station area of Pratapgarh on Saturday night. He later took her to an adjacent field and raped her. At the time of the incident, the victim's father had gone to attend a function in a neighboring village.
The incident occurred in a village under the Kandhai police station area of Pratapgarh late on Saturday night. On the complaint of the victim's father, Kandhai police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused, a resident of a neighboring village.
As per reports, a differently abled woman was present in her house alone. Meanwhile, the accused, a resident of the same village, arrived in an inebriated state at the victim's house, threatened her, and when the victim's father returned home, he did not find his daughter in the house and began searching for her in nearby areas. Seeing the accused man with his daughter in the field, he raised an alarm. The accused man threatened the father and fled from the scene.
The victim's father informed Kandhai police about the incident, and after some time, they arrested the accused man from his home.
The victim was taken to the medical college for treatment. On the complaint of the father, Kandhai police registered a case against Veer Pratap Singh under serious sections, including rape. Circle officer (Patti) Manoj Raghuvanshi said that on the complaint of the victim's father, a case has been registered under different sections, including rape, and the accused man has been arrested....
