Dehradun, Sept. 15 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday approved development and welfare projects worth Rs.136.68 crore across several districts, ranging from temple beautification and rural infrastructure to health centres and urban local body grants, an official statement from the chief minister's office said. According to the statement, for Champawat district, the chief minister sanctioned Rs.37.51 lakh for the construction of a garden farm at Mudiani, along with Rs.49.82 lakh for establishing a marketing centre for the "House of Himalayas" in Amodi. In Dehradun district, Rs.60 lakh has been allocated for replacing old and dilapidated pipelines in several streets under Ward 86, Sewala Kalan, in the Dharampur assembly constituency. Bageshwar district has also been included in the package, with Dhami approving the development of multiple temples under Kapkot assembly constituency as tourist destinations. These include the Shikhar Mool Narayan Complex at Alakhnath Temple Kilpara, Bhanar Bajyain, Kanda Simkula, Ghatwariya, Shiv Temple Sundargufa Kanda, Bajyain Temple Dhai Ijar and Nanda Devi Temple Dofad. Of this, Rs.58.64 lakh has been sanctioned specifically for the beautification of Alakhnath Temple Kilpara. For Tehri district, Rs.60 lakh has been sanctioned for the construction of a Yatri Vishram Grih (rest house) at Dwarikapuri in the Dhanaulti assembly constituency, aimed at improving facilities for pilgrims and tourists. Allocations have also been made in line with the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission. Under this, Rs.10 lakh has been sanctioned in 2025-26 to upgrade rural Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Sub Centres into Health and Wellness Centres.
