Dhami announces panel for promotion of Sanskrit
Dehradun, Dec. 2 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday announced the formation of a high-level commission for the upliftment and development of Sanskrit, stressing that the state is committed to strengthening the language as a modern and practical means of knowledge under the National Education Policy (NEP).
Dhami was addressing scholars and delegates at the International Sanskrit Conference in Haridwar, organised on the theme "Indian Knowledge Tradition: Sanskrit's Contribution to the Development of Global Knowledge."
He said the two-day event showcases the "glorious roots of Indian civilisation" and provides a platform for scholars from India and abroad to deliberate on Sanskrit's rich intellectual heritage....
