Devesh stars in Aliganj Sporting's 3-1 win
LUCKNOW, July 19 -- A brace by Devesh helped Aliganj Sporting Club brush aside Satsun Club 3-1 in a match of the District Football League-2025, at the Chowk Stadium here on Friday.
In another match of the day, Big Blue Club defeated Blue Boys Club by a solitary goal.
After Harsh opened the account for the Aliganj Sporting Club in the very second minute of play, Devesh netted the next two goals, each in 34th and 58th minutes, respectively. Syed Mehdi scored the consolation goal for Satsun Club.
In the second match, Toisa Rai scored the all-important goal in the 42nd minute. On Saturday, Lucknow Football Club will play against LDA Club (B) in the first match of the day, whereas Rising Star Club meet RA Boys Club in the second match.
The 2nd WMSKF All India Karate Championship-2025 will be held on Saturday and Sunday, at the Lalji Tandon Multipurpose Hall at the Chowk Stadium here. Over 600 players from seven states, including hosts Uttar Pradesh will show their strength in this two-day championship, which is being organized by the World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation, Uttar Pradesh under the aegis of World Modern Shotokan Karate Federation, India.
Organizing committee chairman Jaspal Singh said that teams from Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Goa, West Bengal, Punjab and Rajasthan along with host Uttar Pradesh will participate in the championship, in which the largest contingent will be from Uttar Pradesh.
According to Singh, all preparations have been completed for the successful organization of the championship and the weight of the participating players was also measured on the eve on Friday as there will be competition for a total of 140 gold, 140 silver and 280 bronze medals in the championship.
Lucknow Olympic Association's joint secretary Anand Kishore Pandey has been expelled by Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association with immediate effect for his alleged involvement in anti-organization activities.
UPOA's secretary-general, Anandeshwar Pandey said that Pandey tarnished the image of the organization by acting against the Olympic spirit of Uttar Pradesh Olympic Association and Lucknow Olympic Association. Lucknow Olympic Association's general secretary Syed Rafat Zubair Rizvi took action and expelled Pandey.
