LUCKNOW, Nov. 18 -- A dentist in Lucknow's Chinhat area was allegedly assaulted late Sunday night after a heated argument over the Bihar poll results escalated into violence. Police have registered an FIR against a local medical store owner and one unidentified person. "A case was registered under sections 115(2), 351(3) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita," said SHO Chinhat Dinesh Chandra Mishra. According to the FIR filed by Dr Varun Kumar Tiwari on Monday, the incident took place outside his Shaurya Dental Clinic in Nijampur, Mohanlalganj area under Chinhat police station. Tiwari stated that as he was closing his clinic for the day, a casual discussion with a passer-by over BJP's election performance turned hostile when Vikash Yadav, who runs a medical store next door, allegedly intervened, hurled abuses and attacked him. The complainant alleged that Yadav struck him on the leg with a thick wooden stick while another man grabbed him and bit his thumb. Tiwari told police that his wristwatch and chain broke during the scuffle and that he was also punched multiple times. He further claimed that Yadav and Jaswant Yadav, who had allegedly visited his clinic earlier as well, continued to issue threats and demanded he vacate his shop despite having taken about Rs.50,000 as security earlier.
