Lucknow, Oct. 10 -- During the pandemic, the banking services of the postal department emerged as a life saver with the delivery of medicines and medical equipment, said UP circle chief post master general Kaushalendra Kumar Sinha on the occasion of International Postal Day.

He said that the department of posts has played a crucial role during the pandemic, delivering cash at the doorstep with the help of Aadhar-enabled payment system. UP Postal Circle witnessed 27,41,443 transactions between March 25 and May 31, in which the department delivered Rs 449 crore to beneficiaries.
