Delhi-Prayagraj flights cancelled after denial of permission
PRAYAGRAJ, Dec. 7 -- Flight operations at the Prayagraj airport were disrupted once again on Saturday. This time, the issue was not operational glitches but the absence of night-landing permission. As the Air Force did not grant clearance, both the Delhi-Prayagraj and Prayagraj-Delhi flights had to be cancelled, causing major inconvenience to passengers.
For the past two days, Indigo flights at Prayagraj had been facing continuous disruptions. On Friday alone, two Delhi flights and one Mumbai flight were cancelled, while the Bengaluru flight arrived five hours late. Against this backdrop, passengers were hopeful that Saturday's services would operate normally.
Alliance Air had announced a special flight to Delhi for Saturday and even released the schedule. Forty passengers had booked tickets from Prayagraj to Delhi, while 30 were scheduled to travel from Delhi to Prayagraj. The flight was supposed to depart from New Delhi at 5 pm, arrive in Prayagraj at 7 pm, and take off for the return leg at 7.30 pm. However, due to the last-minute denial of permission, passengers received cancellation messages earlier in the day.
On Saturday, only Akasa Air's Mumbai flight operated from Prayagraj Airport, and all its seats were already fully booked....
