Delhi Metro changes timings for Diwali
New Delhi, Oct. 20 -- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced revised schedules for Metro services on the occasion of Diwali, with the last trains set to leave terminal stations an hour earlier than usual on Monday, October 20.
In an official statement issued on Saturday, DMRC said that on Diwali night, the final Metro train from all terminal stations, including those on the Airport Express Line, will depart at 10:00 PM instead of the routine 11:00 PM. The move is aimed at facilitating safe and efficient operations during the festival, when ridership typically drops in the evening hours due to celebrations and restricted traffic movement across the city.
Meanwhile, in a change to the pre-Diwali schedule, Metro services on Sunday, October 19, will start an hour earlier than the usual weekend timing. "Train services on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey Lines, which usually commence at 7:00 AM on Sundays, will begin at 6:00 AM instead," the statement said.
