DElEd trainees continue protest on sixth day with '2 June ki roti' slogan
PRAYAGRAJ, June 3 -- The indefinite dharna of Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) trainees continued for the sixth day outside the gate of Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) in Prayagraj demanding recruitment of teachers in Parishad's primary schools.
On Monday, the candidates had given a call for closure of coaching and digital library and announced a mahadharna. Dozens of candidates gathered for the protest under the '2 June ki roti' campaign and raised slogans. Some candidates expressed their protest by writing '2 June ki roti' on chapatis and demanded employment.
During the protest, the car of chairman of the commissioner Prof Kirti Pandey got stuck among the crowd of protestors. Some candidates tried to convey their demand to which she assured that the government was doing its work.
Seeing no concrete initiative for recruitment, the candidates have announced a 'Maha Andolan' on June 6.
SP chief posts a photo of a student holding chapati
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav posted on his x account on Monday a photo of a girl candidate holding chapati in her hand protesting in front of the Commission's gate.
He wrote that the protest of the candidates of basic teachers and Shikshamitras from all over the state at Eco Garden in Lucknow for 'struggle for bread on June 2' is really worrisome because if there has been no vacancy for basic teachers for seven years then even Shikshamitras get salary for only 11 months and that too only Rs 10,000 per month....
