Even after losing four quick wickets for 90 in 19.2 overs after being sent to bat first, Himachal Pradesh managed to recover from early set backs, but left-arm orthodox spinner Yadav put the breaks as hosts finished the day at 314/9 in 89.2 overs. Gorakhpur's Yadav, who took 4/107 at 3.31 on debut, was well supported by pacer Ankur Sharma (2/41) and other slow spinner Shubham Mishra (2/78) after former India Under-19 World Cupper Naman Tiwari had the wicket of Praval S Singh. Skipper Mridul Surroch along with Amanpreet Singh then tried to steadied the innings, stitching together 131 runs for the fifth wicket, but the two departed in quick succession after the tea session. Whereas Surroch scored 146-ball 78 with the help of nine boundaries and two sixes, Singh struck 65 in 111 balls with the help of five hits to the fence and three sixes. A 54-run seventh wicket stand between Vaibhav Kalta (40, 68b, 5x4) and Aditya Chauhan (32*, 74b, 4x4) further bolstered the innings, but Yadav's two wickets in consecutive overs once again pushed Himachal Pradesh back....
