meerut, Aug. 28 -- A handloom businessman, 35, his wife, 28, and their 4-month-old son were found dead in their upscale residence in Shahjahanpur district on Wednesday in a suspected suicide pact. The family, living in Durga Enclave Colony, left behind suicide notes citing unbearable financial distress and mounting debts, police said. The couple first administered rat poison to their four-month-old son before hanging themselves from ceiling fans in separate rooms on the upper floor of their home. The grim discovery was made by relatives who grew concerned after noticing unusual silence. SP Rajesh Dwivedi confirmed that the investigation points to the parents poisoning their child before ending their own lives.
