India, June 28 -- The Assam cabinet on Friday discussed plans to authorise district deputy commissioners to approve release of Aadhaar cards to adult applicants. "This would ensure that illegal immigrants who had entered the state from Bangladesh won't be able to get Aadhaar," chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
