LUCKNOW, June 7 -- Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Roshan Jacob on Friday expressed satisfaction over Rae Bareli securing 5th position and Lucknow 11th recently in the state-level rankings under the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan. Chairing a review meeting of employment schemes run by the industries department, the divisional commissioner took stock of Chief Minister Yuva Swarozgar Yojana, Ek Janpad Ek Udyam Vikas Yojana, Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, Vishwakarma (VSSY) Toolkit Scheme, and ODOP Toolkit Scheme. All deputy commissioners of industries (DCIs) in the division were directed to intensify promotion of these schemes, identify projects in emerging sectors such as food on wheels, playschools, physiotherapy, grooming classes, and computer design, and establish contact with training institutions to motivate trained candidates to avail the benefits of the schemes. They were also instructed to organise meetings with bank officials under the chairmanship of the chief development officer or district magistrate to ensure 100% achievement of targets. During the review of Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar and Ek Janpad Ek Utpadan Margin Money Yojana, all the deputy commissioners of industries were directed to send the applications of maximum number of eligible candidates to the banks as per the standard on sending less application forms to the banks as compared to the targets allotted by the divisional commissioner. It was also observed that the number of applications actually distributed under employment-oriented schemes was less than the number approved. The DCIs were instructed to reduce this gap and ensure that approved beneficiaries receive the intended support. Reviewing the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana and ODOP Toolkit Scheme, Jacob directed officials concerned to distribute quality toolkits as per the standard.
