Dalits the most oppressed in BJP regime: Akhilesh
Lucknow, July 12 -- Alleging that Dalits are the most oppressed in the Bharatiya Janata Party regime in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav also claimed that only criminals are fearless in the state.
In a statement issued on Friday, the former chief minister said, "The Uttar Pradesh government claimed that criminals will either give up crime or leave the state. But the reality is that only criminals are fearless here. Only those people are safe in the state who are away from the eyes of criminals. The entire state has turned into a jungle raj under the BJP government."
"Dalits are the most oppressed under the BJP government. Somewhere, the bullies resort to violence over playing DJ (music system) in Dalit wedding procession and somewhere, there is a ruckus over the groom riding a horse. The latest incident is from Barabanki where a Dalit youth Shailendra Gautam was stopped from entering a temple and brutally beaten up," the Kannauj MP alleged.
"Due to the failure of the BJP government on every front, the state is being defamed all over the world. Law and order is in a shambles. Because of this, neither any investment is coming to the state nor any industry is being set up. In fact, the industries that are set up are also now planning to leave," he said....
