Cybercons dupe former IG of Rs 4.32 lakh
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 19 -- Former inspector general of police DK Panda, also known as 'Dusri Radha', has once again filed a complaint regarding being duped by cyber fraudsters. This time, cybercriminals defrauded him of Rs 4.32 lakh by sending him a WhatsApp link. The cyber tricksters transferred money online from his bank account in four attempts. Panda has filed an FIR against an unknown mobile number at Dhoomanganj police station.
As per his complaint, on September 9, he was searching for the toll-free number of a bank on the internet. In the meantime, an unknown person called DK Panda on his mobile phone and introduced himself as Rahul Kumar and sent a link on WhatsApp, advising him to click on it and open it. The stranger also engaged Panda in a lengthy conversation. It is alleged that during this time, without DK Panda's knowledge, tricksters transferred the money in four attempts, Rs 1,95,023, Rs 95,008.85, Rs 98,000, and Rs 44,012 respectively. htc...
