Cyber police station incharge suspended for negligence
PRAYAGRAJ, March 20 -- Inspector Pradeep Kumar Singh, posted at the Cyber Police Station, has been suspended on charges of negligence in investigation and dereliction of duty. The suspension order was issued by Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, DCP (Trans Ganga). He has also cautioned other officers and staff to exercise utmost care while handling cybercrime cases.
Pradeep Kumar Singh, who earlier served as the Station House Officer (SHO) of Colonelganj Police Station, was transferred to the Cyber Police Station around seven months ago. Recently, he had arrested an accused, Rajman Gond, from Lucknow. Gond was allegedly involved in preparing forged mark sheets and certificates through a fake website created in the name of the State Open School Council.
However, according to departmental sources, Inspector Singh neither interrogated the accused thoroughly nor conducted a comprehensive investigation. Due to this lapse, the names of other individuals linked to the forgery racket did not come to light. It may be mentioned that Rajman Gond has a criminal history and has previously been jailed in several cases of forgery and fraud....
