PRAYAGRAJ, May 20 -- In a case of cyber fraud in the Sangam city, a man was duped of around Rs 13 lakh over the past few months as tricksters promised him high returns and lured him to share trading, police said. On realising that he was cheated, Sufiyan Ghani Khan, a resident of Daira Shah Ajmal, lodged a case with cyber police station on Sunday night. Confirming lodging of the FIR, SHO, cyber police station, Rajiv Tiwari said efforts were being made to stall the operations of the bank account in which the victim transferred the said amount over a period of time. In his complaint, Sufiyan Ghani Khan claimed that he received a message on his Whatsapp in December 2024. The sender, who allegedly introduced himself as an assistant of Jimeet Modi (founder CEO of Samco Group), advised Khan to invest money in industrial stocks.
