Lucknow, May 7 -- The culture department has invited applications from non-government organisations, educational institutions, and government and semi-government bodies to sponsor cultural programmes that can be jointly organised in the state. Along with this, the artists' payments will be made directly to the registered bank accounts. The initiative aims to promote cultural awareness and participation among the public. "Organisers of non-commercial programmes solely intended to promote culture can apply for sponsorship. Artistes participating in such programmes, who are already registered with the culture department, will be provided with an honorarium along with travel and accommodation assistance," said additional director (culture), Srishti Dhaon.
