CSAUAT needs relentless efforts to regain credibility: Guv
KANPUR, Sept. 19 -- Pointing to lapses ranging from absent teachers and underutilised laboratories to crumbling infrastructure and poor sanitation at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSAUAT), Kanpur, governor Anandiben Patel on Thursday said: "The sharp fall in your NIRF ranking shows the university is not working properly."
She was addressing the convocation of the university here. Patel also said the institution needed "relentless efforts" if it was to regain credibility. "On one hand, we celebrate convocation and sing praises, but the reality is very different on the other. Until we inspire ourselves, how can we inspire others?" she remarked.
Citing her inspection of a Krishi Vigyan Kendra centre where faculty members were missing and a worker hired for Rs 1,500 was tasked with soil testing, she said: "How will soil quality be determined in such a manner? This is a serious issue."
A total of 63 students received medals and 649 were awarded degrees at the ceremony....
