Lucknow, April 9 -- Chief secretary SP Goyal on Wednesday reviewed preparations for the first phase of Census 2027 and directed all divisional commissioners and district magistrates to complete preparatory work by April 10. Chairing a video conference with district officials, Goyal said special focus must be given to ensuring accurate enumeration in densely populated urban pockets. He said the state had prepared a digital database of around 5.5 lakh enumerators and supervisors, whose verified and updated details must be finalised by April 10. He directed that mandatory training of all enumerators and supervisors be completed between April 16 and May 7, with all arrangements and mechanisms put in place before May 6. He also ordered error-free demarcation of house-listing and census blocks with clear boundaries and asked officials to expedite recruitment of technical assistants for geo-tagging and boundary marking....
