Crocodile that entered house rescued: official
Haridwar, July 21 -- The forest department on Saturday night rescued a crocodile that had entered a villager's house in Giddawali village of Laksar block in Haridwar district, according to officials.
The officials said that they received a call about a crocodile being spotted inside a residential compound. Acting swiftly, a specialised quick-response rescue team trained in handling reptiles, particularly crocodiles, was dispatched to the village. The rescue operation lasted for over an hour.
"The crocodile was safely trapped and captured by our expert team without harm. It was later released into a safe stretch of the Ganga," said Shailendra Singh Negi, forest ranger, Haridwar.
He further said that the forest department has ramped up vigil in the region, especially in villages located near water bodies....
