Agra, May 23 -- Deepti Sharma, a member of the Indian women's cricket team, has allegedly been duped of cash and jewellery by another woman cricketer known to her. A complaint in this regard has been lodged by Deepti's brother Sumit Sharma at Sadar Bazar police station in Agra. Following this, a case has been registered against Arushi Goyal and her parents under sections 305(a) (theft in a dwelling house), 331(3) (house trespass), 316(2) (dishonest misappropriation), and 352 (insult with intent to cause breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. According to the FIR, Sumit Sharma stated that his sister Deepti Sharma, who plays for the Indian women's cricket team and is deputed as a DSP in UP Police, had a close friendship with Arushi Goyal, a junior cricketer and resident of Rohini, North West Delhi. Taking advantage of the relationship, Arushi allegedly had Rs 25 lakh transferred to her account by promising to repay the amount soon, Sumit said. He further alleged that the relationship soured after Arushi failed to return the money. Deepti then asked her not to visit her Agra flat and informed the security personnel to restrict her entry. However, on April 22, Arushi allegedly broke the locks of the flat, entered unlawfully, took away Rs 2,500 and jewellery, and then placed her own lock on the property. htc...
