Crackdown on illegal soil mining on LDA land, JCbs seized
LUCKNOW, Dec. 27 -- The police on Wednesday cracked down on a large-scale illegal soil mining operation on land belonging to the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) in Kakori. Three JCBs and seven tractor-trolleys involved in the activity were seized, following intelligence inputs, said police.
Cops said the illegal mining was taking place around Mohammadpur Garhi village under Gosainganj police station. The police reached the spot and informed officials of the mining department.
Three JCB machines were found excavating soil, stated an official release. It was alleged that the illegal mining had been going on for a long time with alleged assistance of LDA officials and contractors. htc...
