New Delhi, May 10 -- A local court on Friday sent 26/11 mastermind Tahawwur Hussain Rana to Tihar jail till June 6 in judicial custody, a day before his National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody was going to expire. The federal agency produced Rana for an in-camera hearing on Friday, being guarded by a posse of NIA and other security officials. Rana's extended 12-day NIA custody was going to expire on Saturday. However, anticipating security threat in view of the expected rush for Lok Adalat on Saturday, NIA produced Rana in Patiala House courts on Friday. In a brief hearing before Special Judge (NIA) Chanderjit Singh, Rana was sent into judicial custody for 27 days. During the proceedings, the NIA prosecutors, senior advocate Dayan Krishnan and advocate Narender Mann, told the court that Rana's custodial interrogation is over and that they may seek his remand later, as and when he is to be confronted with further evidence in the case....
