PRAYAGRAJ, Dec. 1 -- A couple travelling on a motorcycle died on Sunday afternoon after a speeding pickup allegedly hit them near the Nevada petrol pump under Sarai Mamrej police station limits in Prayagraj. Police said the collision occurred when the biker attempted to overtake an auto-rickshaw, during which the pickup coming from the opposite direction struck them. The driver was arrested at the spot. According to reports, Rajabali, 52, of Dewanganj Salmapur in the Phulpur police station area, was heading to his son's in-laws' house in Durgaganj with his wife Anisha, 45, around 3 pm. As they approached the Nevada petrol pump on the Barna-Janghai road, Rajabali allegedly tried to overtake an auto-rickshaw when the pickup appeared from the front, leading to a head-on crash.
