MEERUT, Aug. 11 -- A 25-year-old man was brutally murdered in Chandosi, Sambhal district, on Sunday, allegedly over an illicit relationship. He was lured to a house at midnight and beaten to death, with the attackers reportedly pulling out his teeth with pliers and stabbing him with a screwdriver, said police. Police have taken a couple into custody and are interrogating them. The victim, identified as Anees alias Sameer, a resident of Mohalla Warisnagar, sold tarpaulin in other districts. Police said he had been in a three-year illicit relationship with a woman from the neighbourhood and was allegedly blackmailing her for money and sex. Additional SP (North) Rajesh Kumar Srivastava said the couple's damaged reputation in the locality led them to plot and kill Anees. "Preliminary investigation shows Anees came to meet the woman when her husband, Bhure, caught and assaulted him. A murder case has been registered, and both accused are in custody," he said. According to the victim's father Mustakeem, the attack happened late Saturday night while Anees was resting in the sitting room. "After 1 am, Anees's friend called asking for him. When I looked, he was lying under a sheet, badly injured and bleeding from the mouth, with wounds across his body." Anees died before doctors at the local CHC could begin treatment. Police said that before succumbing to his injuries, Anees allegedly told his family that a couple from Asharfi Wali Gali had called him over and then assaulted him. His father claimed the attackers broke his limbs, pulled out his teeth and lips with pliers, and stabbed him with a screwdriver. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further legal action is underway....
