PRAYAGRAJ, July 13 -- A young man and woman from separate villages under the Manda police station limits in Prayagraj died by suicide late Friday night after allegedly lying on a railway track in the neighbouring Jigna area of Mirzapur district, police said on Saturday. Police said the bodies were found near Chaderu Chowktha village, about a kilometre from Jigna railway station, following a memo received from the local station master. Officers from Jigna police station reached the site and sent the bodies for postmortem examination after completing legal formalities. According to reports, the two adults were in a relationship opposed by their families. A panchayat meeting had been held on May 12 at Manda police station, where both were reportedly told to stay away from each other. However, the duo allegedly took the extreme step to end their lives together on Friday night. Jigna station house officer (SHO) Abhay Singh confirmed that police received information during the night about the bodies of an unidentified boy and girl near pole number 1214 on the old railway line. Family members who reached the station later identified them and informed police about the earlier panchayat decision....
