Lucknow, July 12 -- A woman was said to be critical after she and her husband were assaulted by some men in Itaunja on Friday, police said. The couple were attacked by one Puneet and his aides Monu and Lallu Rawat at a grocery store, after which the woman was taken to a local hospital, which referred her to King George's Medical University. The woman, who is said to be a Bharatiya Janata Party worker, reportedly lodged a police complaint against Puneet for passing obscene remarks on her on July 1. On June 30, Puneet passed obscene remarks on her, asking her to accompany him. The woman had alleged that the accused committed such acts many times before, but no police action was taken. She further alleged that the accused also threatened to implicate her in a false case under the SC/ST Act....
