Lucknow, July 2 -- Opposing the privatisation of Purvanchal and Dakshinanchal discoms in Uttar Pradesh, power employees across the country will hold demonstrations on Wednesday in solidarity with protesting staff in UP. Over one lakh electricity workers are expected to take to the streets across 42 districts in the state. "One lakh employees will hit the roads in UP and will demonstrate at the Residency and the MVVNL headquarters in Lucknow," Sangharsh Samiti convenor Shailendra Dubey said. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, mass meetings were held in Kanpur, KESCo, and Panki Thermal Plant to prepare for a potential 'Jail Bharo' agitation if privatisation tenders are floated.
