PRAYAGRAJ, July 6 -- Fatehpur couple Fayaz Ali and Nazmeen Bano, a modern-day Bunty-Babli, cheated youths of Kaushambi and Maharashtra of about Rs 15 lakh on the pretext of sending them to Singapore last year. They even handed over fake visas to the victims. However, when the victims realised the fraud, they demanded their money back from the couple, at which the latter threatened to kill them. Kokhraj police registered a case on the complaint of the victims and investigations in the matter. Shahbaz Khan alias Lala, resident of Rampur Suhela under Kokhraj police station area, wrote in his complaint that his father, Sarfaraz Khan, died on August 12, 2024. Fayaz Ali, son of Iqbal Ali, of Ratanpur village of Khakhreru police station area of Fatehpur district had also come for the last rites. During this time, Ali developed a rapport with Khan and lured him with a promise of sending him to Singapore and getting him a monthly salary of Rs 70,000. According to the victim, Ali had earlier collected Rs 20,000 each from Mohd Sharafat, Imran, Mohsin Ali, Mohd Irfan and Fateh Mohammad of his village and transferred the amount to the accused's wife, Nazmeen Bano's Phone Pay....
