Lucknow, Sept. 16 -- The Lucknow Police carried out a special drive under Operation Prahar in Mohanlalganj on Monday, in a major crackdown against criminal elements. Acting on the instructions of police commissioner Amarendra Singh Sengar, a joint team of around 80 policemen launched a door-to-door search and verification campaign in Gaurha village. The drive's objectives, officials said, include curbing crime, breaking networks of anti-social elements, and instilling confidence among the public. "Such operations not only deter criminals but also assure citizens of the police's active presence in maintaining law and order," said ADCP Kumar. The exercise, led by DCP South, Nipun Agarwal, additional DCP Vasanth Kumar, ACP Mohanlalganj, Rajneesh Kumar, and SHO DK Singh, focused on keeping habitual offenders, history-sheeters, and recently released criminals under check. "During the operation, police detained six suspects for questioning and seized a Royal Enfield motorcycle. Preventive action is being initiated against them," said The DCP.
