Cops briefed on sops for project safe ride
Lucknow, Aug. 21 -- To enhance commuter safety, the city police have initiated 'Project Safe Ride' across all stations under the Southern Zone. As part of the campaign, a workshop was organised under the guidance of police commissioner Amrendra Singh Sengar and joint commissioner of police (Law & Order) B.B. Kumar, with DCP South Nipun Aggarwal leading the initiative.
During the workshop, station officers and senior inspectors were briefed on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for driver verification and vehicle registration. The drive mandates online registration of autos and e-rickshaws on the official police portal, followed by character verification of drivers via the UPCOP app or the website.
The registration process, which started on July 29, will continue till August 31. After successful registration, vehicle owners will receive a downloadable receipt and a QR code, which must be displayed on the vehicle....
